which witch

I love Halloween. I mean, I really love Halloween! In fact, it's pretty much Halloween every day in our house. We've got spiderwebs, bats, ghosts and spooky decor all over our home and the day we run out of black lip gloss more often than we run out of toilet paper. This being said, I really loved the idea of creating a witches hat that was both simple to knit, funky, and most importantly, custom fit. The possibilities with the decor for this hat are virtually endless! It's very important to me for a knitter to have almost endless easy options for both yarn supply and creative outlet, so this hat is designed to be knit with any feltable bulky (or double stranded worsted) weight yarn. If it felts, and it's thick, you're ready to go!

As for decoration, you can go the simple ivy route shown here, or really get wild and create a piece like Neville Longbottom's grandmother's hat from the Harry Potter series. (I've got giant peacocks waiting to go on my next hat!)

purchase the which witch pattern for only 3 dollars by going here!

and of course, more pictures:

enjoy!

Love the Hat :)

I wanted to thank you for this great pattern! This witch hat is without a doubt the coolest thing I've ever saw!! I'm trying to learn how to knit ;)
Are you Wiccan? Just wandering..I kinda got that vibe, guess its cause of the witch hat, heheh! If so, thats really cool, cause I am too. I love the decor on the hat, the scroll/vine look with leaves is really pretty & its perfect! The butterfly is another added beauty to it, very beautiful! Hope to see more like this soon!

Re: Love the Hat :)

i'm glad you like the hat. i'm really looking forward to seeing what others do with this pattern! as for my choice of religion, i consider myself a pagan rather than a wiccan. i have heavy leanings in native american traditions. :) have fun making the hat!

Re: Their loss!

i don't mind the rejection. yeah, it sucks and all, but little to they know that the longer they reject me, the more patterns i'll flood them with. mua ha ha. :)

wow

I love the hat! You are quickly becoming one of my favorite designers. This would be perfect for the witches ball. It would be great just for wearing while handing out candy to neighborhood kids on halloween. I am also planning on knitting your peackock veil for my handfasting. Don't worry about the rejection from the publishers. My Aunt was a writer for several magaizes and she told me that she had tons of rejections for every accepted article. I love your patterns, so just keep on trying.

Which witch hat

I love this hat, but am confused about the pattern. Where the ruffle starts, it looks like there are only 5 rows, but the picture seems to have more like 8 or 10. Am I missing a part? I havent't knitted any patterns that were completely custom and without the number of stitches per round, etc. Barb
